Ants use their antennae as a way to smell and touch and are known to communicate with each other through the use of pheromones

Ants are omnivorous and their diet will vary depending on the season and state of the colony
In the spring, ants will feed primarily on protein in order to help with egg production and larval growth. In the summer to fall, carbohydrates are desired by ants to assist with energy production.
